About us

Bali-based engineers who care about doing it right

SuryaTech Solar was founded because the island needed a solar company that actually understood Bali — the grid, the climate, the permitting, and the expat experience.

Our story

Built from frustration, run on principle

Our founder moved to Bali in 2018 and quickly ran into what every expat property owner eventually faces: a PLN bill that grows every year, intermittent outages in the rainy season, and a roster of solar contractors who couldn't explain what they were actually installing.

After a bad experience with a poorly-sized on-grid system that delivered half the promised savings, he spent a year studying the local grid, Indonesian permitting law, and solar engineering — then built the company he wished had existed.

Today SuryaTech Solar is a team of local engineers, project managers, and after-sales technicians, all based in Bali. Our first flagship hybrid villa system is live in Ubud, with more surveys and installs in the pipeline — and every system we commission is signed off by a certified electrical engineer.

Bali solar resource

4.5 peak sun hours — every day, all year

Bali sits 8° south of the equator, giving it one of the best solar resources in Southeast Asia. Even in the wet season, average irradiance stays above 4 hours per day.

Why now

The case for solar in Bali has never been stronger

PLN tariffs are rising

Electricity rates in Indonesia have increased significantly and are expected to continue rising as the government reduces energy subsidies. Every year you delay, the payback calculation gets worse.

EV adoption is accelerating

Motorbike EVs and car EVs are growing fast in Bali. A hybrid solar system with a home charger means you effectively drive on free solar energy.

Panel prices are at historic lows

Global solar panel manufacturing has expanded massively, pushing Tier 1 panel costs to near all-time lows. 2025 is one of the best years to install.

What we stand for

Our values

Integrity first

We only recommend what's right for your property. If solar doesn't make sense for your situation, we'll tell you.

Quality over volume

We install fewer systems than the big contractors — which means every project gets senior engineer oversight from survey to switch-on.

Genuinely sustainable

Clean energy is the point, not just a marketing angle. We track the tonnes of CO₂ offset by every system we install.
